He is now being hailed as a hero in Canada for his wonderful deed - he removed his turban in the public against the strict religious rules and used it as a rope to save a child from drowning in the freezing river of Canada . A small simple deed done instantly, saved a life, but had he thought religiously, things would have been different . Like the saying ' It is only in the darkest of the nights that we see a star shine the brightest '. In this present age when people use religion as a tool to create utter nuisance (like the ISIS ) , it is truly a relief to see a man who kept behind his religion and valued human life more .
It is has become high time that we understand that we are all human beings after all, and killing one another by coining religion into it can be justified by none other than the extremist psychopaths themselves . The world had evolved much over than just on the basis of religion. The best example is - the US, which is termed as a CHRISTIAN country is now ruled by a MUSLIM leader , ie. The christian majority country chose a muslim leader , not on the basis of his religion , but on the merit he held .
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru , India's 1st PM , who lead the then 37 crore Indians was an atheist . Was he elected because he was Hindu ? I dont think so . The world has very well learned to identify people not on the basis of the religion they belong to , but on the truth that lies in their Heart . Avtar Hothi is one such living example on whom we can look upon to say , " I'am a human being first and only then a religious member" .
Thirty or Forty years down the lane , I would be more happy to be known as a good human being than a good CHRISTIAN , HINDU OR MUSLIM . What about U ?
