PAPER RECYCLING

Paper is different from other waste produce because it comes from a sustainable resource: trees. Unlike the minerals and oil used to make plastics and metals, trees are replaceable. Paper is also biodegradable, so it does not pose as much threat to the environment when it is discarded. While 45 out of every 100 tonnes of wood fibre used to make paper in Australia comes from waste paper, the rest comes directly from virgin fibre from forests and plantations. By world standards, this is a good performance since the worldwide average is 33 percent waste paper. Governments have encouraged waste paper collection and sorting schemes and at the same time, the paper industry has responded by developing new recycling technologies that have paved the way for even greater utilization of used fibre. As a result, industry’s use of recycled fibres is expected to increase at twice the rate of virgin fibre over the coming years.

Already, waste paper constitutes 70% of paper used for packaging and advances in the technology required to remove ink from the paper have allowed a higher recycled content in newsprint and writing paper. To achieve the benefits of recycling, the community must also contribute. We need to accept a change in the quality of paper products; for example, stationery may be less white and of a rougher texture. There also needs to support from the community for waste paper collection program.

There are technical limitations to the amount of paper which can be recycled and some paper products cannot be collected for re-use. These include paper in the form of books and permanent records, photographic paper and paper which is badly contaminated. The four most common sources of paper for recycling are factories and retail stores which gather large amounts of packaging material in which goods are delivered, also offices which have unwanted business documents and computer output, paper converters and printers and lastly households which discard newspapers and packaging material. The paper manufacturer pays a price for the paper and may also incur the collection cost.

Most paper products must contain some virgin fibre as well as recycled fibres and unlike glass, paper cannot be recycled indefinitely. Most paper is down-cycled which means that a product made from recycled paper is of an inferior quality to the original paper. And the recycling process still creates emissions which require treatment before they can be disposed of safely. Nevertheless, paper recycling is an important economical and environmental practice but one which must be carried out in a rational and viable manner for it to be useful to both industry and the community.

MEN OR WOMEN

"God created a man and then he found that he was incomplete. In order to him complete,a pair was created for him"

It doesn't mean that man overpower woman both have their own strengths and weakness. In order to turn the weakness of a man to strength a women is needed.Similarly in order to turn the weakness of a women a man is needed.Behind every successful man there is a women.Without the support of a man a woman cannot come to the front row of the society. Both complement each other.

But in today's society both try to overpower each other. This is the basic reason for the increase  in the number of divorces. They are the two pillars of a family and if they fall the entire family collapses.

We people are the future of tomorrow  let's understand each other and be a model to others. Thus we can  make the world a better place to live in.

SELF CONFIDENCE

Self confidence gives birth to positive thinking. Every day we wake up with a handful of challenges in front of us. Some shy away from facing them while others confront it with a smile. When we think positively we will be able to overcome any kind of hindrances. The outcome depends on the mindset of individual.
A doubtful and dependent person struggles to stand on her toes, while a confident and brave person uses her  positive thinking mind to turn the tables on any problem she face.
Another important thing that we must keep in mind is to keep trying. If you face a problem and you fail to solve it, do not run away.  Just try again and again and the success will be ours.
The more self confidence, the more  optimistic a person would be. Self confidence is needed to reach one's goal. But it is not just through self confidence one reach her goals.  It is the positive thinking which arises through self confidence changes the surroundings favourably.
Two negative signs form a positive sign, likewise any bad situation can be changed to a good one if she has the confident, determination and passion to achieve. A confident mind forgets her weakness and concentrates on her strengths.
So it is clear that where there is self confidence, there will be positive thinking.

GIRL - A HAUNTED STORY

Everyone was running to see what was happening across the street.I saw a flame rising and smoke coming up to the sky.Was it an accident.....?I too followed the steps of others ,who moved faster than me.My slower steps was because of my inner feeling of not getting involved in helping them out.

But when I was getting closer,I felt smelling something different....!It smelled like burnt flesh....I wondered if there were any people inside the vehicle and they are getting burned.I rushed down there as the cries were pricking my ears.

As I moved,I saw the smoke arising was crying out for its freedom from this world of inequality and injustice. It went up...to the world of infinity were it enjoyed freedom and happiness...!

When I reached the spot,it was much crowded so that I cannot reach out.People seem to be more worried than in normal accidents.I heard someone commenting like this.."What is the matter in accepting a proposal..?Such an idiotic and culture less girl..She should  be expecting something more...!"

I asked one of them what was the matter. The news gave me a shock so that I felt like something hearing exaggerated. But it was real.A man proposed a girl and she rejected it.His real love for her made him to burn her alive and be a part of her death for love...
https://s4.scoopwhoop.com/anj/vv/35009f5d-bea5-4d47-9b1a-8d772ee59f09.jpg
I was shocked - A person burnt the girl whom he loved the most for rejecting his feeling...

                        " NEW FACE OF LOVE"

Not only for love, but for many other reasons girls have been daily exploited within a minute time-pass.Not only the ordinary girls, even the celebrities is going through the cruel harassment. What will the girls around the world will do..?Did they should stay in their house the whole day long...!Or did they need to change their dressing styles..!Ooh.. they should not walk out during nights..!All the girls in social media late nights are considered as prostitutes...Everyone is protesting and speaking a lot about their protection. But daily the incidents are coming out more worse.

All the girls around, even me is thinking about the upcoming future of women. Is the attitude that need a change....Or the women..!

MAHASHWETA - Sudha Murty

I bought this book after it was recommended by one of my friend. And after reading, I truly believe that this is the best work by Sudha Murty.
The story revolves around a lady Anupama who is beautiful beyond words, while she is enacting in a Sanskrit play titled ‘Mahashweta’ she catches the fancy of the renowned and rich doctor Anand. Both of them get married and Anand has to leave for England for further studies. Anupama develops a case of leukoderma and she is shunned by all and even her in laws throw her out of her home. Even Anand doesn’t support her and leaves her to fend for herself. After a long fight to get back with Anand, Anupama looses all hopes and then gathers all her courage and moves to Mumbai and makes a good career for herself.
I specially liked the postscript, "being an author you sometime don’t realize how your stories can touch other people lives."
So I would like to recommend this book to my dear friends to experience that magic.

Discovering herself
Not too long ago, this braveheart was struggling with fears of a mediocre life, as a young teen studying in an all-girls’ college in Nagpur.
“I did not talk to anyone, participate in competitions, or study. That can easily be called one of the darkest phases of my life” she says.
This was in stark contrast to how she had been while at school. Although not very good at studies, she had always been actively involved in extracurricular activities, participating and winning most competitions.
“I could not allow myself to slip into oblivion. I decided I had to change”
The dream of donning a uniform
“This was the turning point of my life.”
The NCC helped her discover an untapped adventurous streak, and she decided to apply for the armed forces. After completing her graduation, Harshini applied to quite a few colleges and courses but ended up pursuing an MBA. Her sights, however, were still on joining the armed forces, and she had simultaneously started preparing for the exams.
She was not very happy studying for the MBA and began applying to various other courses. Around the same time, she applied to a fire engineering course on the insistence of a friend who had learnt about the course through an employment portal.
One day, she got a call from her father, who told her a telegram in her name had arrived. It was from the National Fire Service College in Nagpur. She had got through!Although it was no mean achievement, Harshini’s parents were apprehensive.
“Nobody knew about this college, and what the course was all about.”

The ONLY girl
But they soon learnt that the college was the only of its kind  in all of Southeast Asia, and was run by the Home ministry. Harshini had put in a lot of hard work to get through. It was a UPSC style examination with only 30 seats up for the grabs. And soon, she was going to be the first girl to ever study there!
After studying in an all-girls’ college for five years, she was now going to be studying in a college full of boys. It was not going to be easy. The seven-semester course in fire engineering required the students to live in residence, so special provisions had to be made for Harshini.

. She had to change into different uniforms for each drill and be present in time. While her classmates went to their hostels, which were located on the campus, she had to go home. The schedule was gruelling. But she had to keep at it.
Being a girl in an only boys’ college sure got her a lot of popularity, but it also put her under a lot of pressure to perform.
“All the boys in my college used to ridicule me because of all the media attention and publicity I was receiving. According to them, I was doing nothing different. What they failed to understand that it was not about Harshini Kanhekar, the person, but more about a girl breaking into a male bastion, and doing what no one ever had.”
Dealing with heavy water hoses, suction hoses, and mock drills with dummies, the course was difficult for everybody who was taking it. But Harshini had additional challenges to take on.
“As I was the first girl to be taking up the course, there were a lot of expectations. I could not afford to make mistakes because my performance would set the tone for how girls would be perceived in this field.”
Her first fire situation was a cylinder blast in Shirdi during her practical year at college, where she was required to work in fire stations. Ever since, she has always been on the lookout for larger fires.
“I always used to ask my station commander when I will get to douse big fires.”

Before joining ONGC in 2006, Harshini has helped douse several big fires in Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Her longest operation was in Delhi when a tin factory caught fire, and she along with others, had to fire fight for six hours at a stretch. As a part of her service, she has also rescued civilians during floods, building collapses, wildlife attacks, and river swelling.
After joining ONGC, she was posted at the company’s Mehsana station, where she was in-charge of one of the three fire stations. “I am fortunate to have had supportive parents, great instructors, and now, employers who have always stood by me.”
Harshini’s success story is a great example for everybody who is looking to do what no one ever has. She has shown us what courage and hard work, when combined together, can achieve. As she continues to make us all proud, she has something to say to the government’s policy makers and management of educational institutions and corporates.
“Don’t assume that any job is unfit for someone purely on the basis of gender. The women of today are flying fighter jets, fighting fire, and doing the unthinkable. It doesn’t imply that we couldn’t do it ten years ago. Ability should only be judged on the basis of qualification and not gender.”

Dream?

Some dreams are auspicious. They are wonders and can create wonders. They can teach life lessons, even make transformations in our lives.

I've always wanted to see heaven.  I've heard extensive tales of how infinitely beautiful the place is. Little am I rational to not believe that. For me, heaven is a wonder to be believed in without even attempting to rationalise it.

And once, I saw heaven. I was taken to witness my all time fantasy. A distant view itself of it was sublime enough to content me for the rest of my life. My greed for more thrill took me further. I was taken aback by the extravagant beauty. But what was more astonishing was that the place was not unfamiliar. It took me no time to identify that it was my home. It was the backyard of my house the very same place where I'd play all those childhood games with my brother and neighbourhood friends. But it hardly looked the usual. It was a beauty, marvellous. Unambiguously, the same place though. Iam telling this because Iam sure I would recognise every corner of it if I had walked around.

I didn't know when I slid back to my normal sleep. But it was very surprising for me when I woke up, for the fact that I memorised all the bits of my dream. I would recollect the very picture of my heaven - the stream, the plans , the blue tint of the whole space and almost everything . And that's one dream that I still remember even after these many years passed. May be because, that whole day I was bothered to do nothing after waking up from the dream other than wondering- heaven?  My house? But how?

Years passed. Time had me to move out of my village. Moving out was hard, but fantasies of a city took me ahead - it's pace the people the culture the language and all those fancy stuff. But it didn't last too long. Successively, it got monotonous. Rush was always rush. And more importantly nature was too bare to be seen, unlike the village.

Still, I would dream of my heaven. And it's the dream to return.  To go back home, feel the calm and chill in my backyard, having the closest of conversation  with nature. "Then I would merge with the divine, like we might, in heaven". I dream.

Yes ! Some dreams are auspicious. They are created in our soul. They are wonders. We just have to put faith in the magic of these wonders.

MUSIC IS BEYOND EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE

To start with ,let me first of all say that I'm not writing this as a great singer but as a little boy standing ,fluttering near the great ocean of music.tracing back 12 years ago, when I was at the age of 7, I just started learning music as "classical".During that young age I was not even aware of the main notes and my "guru" keep on changing "shruthi" or "scale" or "pitch" to arrive at my own "shruthi".

But when I was at the age of 12, I went to realty show "star singer junior" sponsored by "nestle munch" aired on "Asianet" channel. It was at trivandrum. There I came to know more about participants who all are great talented singers ,most of them have participated in  other realty shows and the one of those who are participating in such shows for the first time!!
I also came to know more about the stress and strain each participant take for each episode.
there were grooming sections there which enable all of the participants to improve singing and things like "voice modulation" and how to sing without "strain" and how to sing film songs different from the "classical" style.

At the first episode of my song, I was a little bit tensed as I was over strained and I could not sing properly. Then I was little depressed, but my parents and other participants gave me courage to perform better in the next round. In the next stage, the judges pointed out mistakes and gave suggestions to improve it.In the coming stages I could perform reasonably better.
The judges were playback singer Sujatha mam,G Venugopal sir and the great magician shri Gopinath Muthukad. In the grand finale stage I got appreciation from the great actor of Malayalam film Industry shri Jagathy sreekumar. It was the most memorable and one of the greatest appreciation that I got.Another memorable appreciation that I got in my life is that of playback singer P.Unnikrishnan sir. That was in the "classical music " round in which I got the highest marks.I could not believe all those happened at that time ,even now!!
I would also like to say that music paved way for  me to participate in programes abroad like Singapore and Dubai .Never in my life I thought of travelling in a flight that too free of cost.
Those were the days......

At present , I'm studying B COM and not yet decided about my future career.Anyways , I would like to take music as my profession and truly, music is beyond everything in my life and I would like to sing till my last breathe and through out my entire life.
At last I would like to conclude by saying that whatever the fate may be,all that I achieve till now is only because of gods' blessings and prayers and support of my parents, teachers and friends.
That's all about my music life.

THANKS FOR READING!!!!😏

                        BEING  A  TWIN

We are twins - fraternal twins. As the name implies we are not identical. Let me start off by saying being a twin is the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me.. We are double the trouble.. we are double the joy. We shared everything from the womb onwards. We go to school together. We are in the same classes. We do the same activities and we share the same friends.

My twin sister is truly and undoubtedly my best friend. I can tell her anything and she too can, no matter how personal the story may be. In most cases, we witness the same thing and most probably we react in the same way. This has become as part of my identity.

When I tell people that I am a twin the first thing they usually say are 'let me see a picture of her'. I then proceed to show them my twin sister and they seem to be slightly disappointed because people tend to link twins with being strictly identical.
And begins the flow of questions: 'who came out first?', 'Do you guys fight?', 'Do you have the same birthday?', ... We do also get some weird questions like 'If you get fever will your twin also catch fever immediately?', 'Can you read each others mind?'... How do one going to answer such questions? Sometimes it's bit annoying. But we very much enjoys it.

Everyone are curious to know about their childhood stories from their parents. I too have the same curiousity to know how my parents brought up me and my sister together. When I ask my mother about this, she always tell me with a smile not to make her remember those days of hardship... If one of twins get sick, infect the other one as soon as possible. It is inevitable. In our case, we  both had contrasting nature in sleeping.I used to sleep at day time and my sister at night. But the fact is that the only person who don't have sleep is my mother as we two sleep on shift basis.
You may think that changing diaper for two babies requires the same amount of time as changing the diaper of one baby, times two. But it is not like that. It actually requires more than twice the effort. Because while you are changing one baby's diaper , you will simultaneously have to keep the other baby occupied so she will not steal the clean diaper you are about to put on or the one you just have removed.

When I ask my mother more, she says that literally she don't remember most of the first six months because of tiredness. If given the chance, she would have slept anywhere;on the floor, in a dining room chair or even by standing up.

Yes, I know eventhough my parents tell all this as funny and silly.. those stories are really horrors of raising twins...

N-Nurturing

C-Community

The multinational corporations which works like machines rather than humans have grown beyond a certain size. They create so many problems especially to developing countries. They took control over the labour and natural resources of the industrialized nations through creating environmental disasters and political chaos. The laws applicable to control them outstripped the development of a legal framework.
Even though they provide employment opportunities to the people, the objective is something very drastic and suspicious.

This cruel behaviour of these giants are even shown in films like kaththi, in tamil, emmanuel in malayalam and so on.MNCs can be in the form of small, medium or large institutions.Continuing groth is inbuilt into their activitiesand maximizing of profit is their ultimate goal.

The people need these corporates for the sake of getting jobs so even if they came to heard about the evilness behind them, they simply hear it through one ear and drop it through other.

THE SAME PAIN…THE SAME CRY…..THE SAME UNDERGONE FAITH…….END OF PATIENCE AND TOLERENCE!!!!!FED UP WITH THE SAME WORDS RIGHT!  FROM THE PAST FEW YEARS WE HAVE SEEN AND FELT THE PAIN OF MANY WOMENS WHO HAVE BEEN THE BLOODQUENCH OF MANY UNSEEN WOLVES IN OUR SOCIETY…………..THIS  PIECE OF MY WRITING IS NOT TRYING TO BRING UP THE SAME  PAIN AND SORROW,BUT TO INTRODUCE YOU TO  A FORUM OF WOMEN WRITERS……….SOI……………….!WHICH HAVE BEEN WORKING AS A CLOSE FRIEND OF MANY   WOMENS FROM THE PAST 13 YEARS.

There are several women writers in India today who feel strongly that their body of work should not be viewed only from a gender lens but be acknowledged as part of the larger world of literature. But this does not mean they are not proud of the singular perspective that women bring to the space of writing.According to Nabaneeta Dev Sen, who is also the president of Soi – Women Writers’ Association of Bengal ’’Let’s just say that within the creative field of writing we women have special concerns and some special ways of telling our stories’’.

Incidentally, Soi – which in Bangla has a three dimensional meaning – signature, ‘sakhi’ or female friend, and ‘I endure’ – completed 13 years of existence last year. The commemorative issue of their publication, ‘SOI Sabud’, also  expressed the “deeply felt need” of creative women to find a “meeting point to vent our ideas, to test our creations, to gather strength from each other in moments of defeat, and to celebrate our victories”. That’s what Soi endeavours to be to its members: “a space where we open up ourselves to the rudest criticisms and still feel secure”.. Well known writers such as Suchitra Bhattacharya, Magsaysay winner Mahasweta Devi and legendary dancer Amala Shankar, among others, have been associated with the group right from the beginning.
Despite the fact that their works are ignored many a time, or do not get the spotlight they deserve, what is it that drives women to write? What are the thoughts and inspirations that move them to put pen to paper? Urmila Pawar, who writes in Marathi on her experiences as a dalit woman, says, “I came into this world with the painful baggage of my caste, class and gender. The difficulty of being a woman, particularly a dalit woman, with all the discriminations I observed made me want to write and express myself.
Her autobiography ‘Aaidan’ (‘The Weave of My Life: A Dalit Woman’s Memoirs’) is a metaphor for Pawar’s writing technique that is all about weaving together the stories of people and life around her. “I am proud of the fact that I constantly strive to make women speak and write about their lives. My writing has given me this strength,” adds the woman who is one of the two writers to receive the first Soi Samman in 2013.

This is the photograph of padmashri awardee Saashi Deshpande ,who is famous for her writings in english. She was particularly criticized for her women centerd writing
-- HER REPLY TO THIS IS--
.But why shouldn’t I write about women? We’ve had enough of getting belittled and encountering a condescending attitude because we write from this point of view. We should stand for it no longer.”

The next women writer is Pratibha Ray,who is a jnanapeed recepient for her works in oriya. she has been vociferous on issues of social injustice and corruption, shares an interesting perspective. Although she strongly feels that “there is no difference between the writings of men and women, writing is beyond gender”, she does admit that sometimes writing from a woman’s point of view comes naturally.
Ray’s repertoire reflects this. Although she was an established poet by the time she got married, she stopped writing when she became a mother. She decided that her energies were needed to bring up her three children. But when she took up the pen again, it was to portray female characters as advocates of peace.
Feminist writing is a protest against the status quo allotted to women or the oppressed by society. My ‘Draupdi’ [Ray’s well-known work] is about a modern woman; she’s against war and is for peace,” says the writer.
In this context, it’s important to note that many writers and researchers have written that the war of Kurukshetra in the epic ‘Mahabharata’ was pre-ordained when Draupadi was disrobed publicly in the court by the Kurus and it was her prodding for revenge that set off the subsequent events. The beauty of nature and the ugliness of the dogma-ridden society both instigate my creative sensitivity to say something,” Ray states. She attributes the “boldness and revolt” in her literature to her family’s religious practices – she follows Vaishnavism that preaches no caste, no class – and the teachings of her Gandhian father.
soi womens foroum is for all women in india .So to complete it we need someone from south india.Kannada writer,Janaki Srinivasa Murthy , who goes by the pen name of Vaidehi, also has a protesting pen although she maintains that “my protest is subtle”. Stresses Vaidehi, “I use the word ‘equality’ carefully. Organically we are not the same as men. Our sensibilities are also different in many ways.” Vaidehi uses a lot of folk tales and daily rituals that she observed during her childhood to tell her stories in a modern language.
Their ways of expression and their inspirations may be different but all these well-known female writers are in agreement on one thing. Reveals celebrated Hindi writer Mridula Garg, speaking for everybody, I write because I can’t think of anything else to do. It’s like breathing.”

    EMPOWERING      HERSELF

She  has  become  stronger  by  the  shackles  put  on  her: bolder  by  the  early  experiences  of  silencing  her . She  will  break  her  shackle  and  come loud  and  powerful .
'Women empowerment ' is  the  ringing  term in  India  since  the  Delhi  gang  rape  has  been  reported.
What is  women  empowerment ? Empowering  women  physically  by  teaching  them  karate  or  other  martial  arts ? Filling  their  bags  with  mace  and  pepper  spray  ? No, but  making  them  mentally  and  legally  independent , instilling  a  feeling  of  confidence  in themselves.
Have you  been  able  to  break  off  the  shackles  of  patriarchal  society  yet  and  give  or  women  their  right and share of  happiness? Not  yet. They  are  still  bound  by  the  primitive  claps  of  religious  and  mental  customs  holding  them  down  from  fulfilling  their  dreams  and  aspirations .
Women  can  be  empowered  only  by  making  them  aware  of  their  mental  strength  ,  legal  possibilities  available  to them and  by  including  in  them  a  sense  of  confidence  and  independence . They  should  be  able  to  sustain  on  their  own , realize  their  dreams  and  become  self  reliant .
Women empowerment  can be  attained  not  just  by  bringing  a  change  in  attitude of women  but  also  in  men . Men  must  be  able  to  accept  women  as they  are  not  as mere commodities . Men should support  and  encourage  women  by  creating  a safe  and  secure  environment  for  her .
Women  are  not  helpless  mute  beings  on  earth  but  the  most  powerful  and  stronger  ones . She  has  become  stronger  by  the  shackles  put  on  her: bolder  by the  early  experiences  of  silencing  her. She  will break  her  shackles  and  come  loud  and  powerful . Yes , this  is  the  empowerment  we  need , helping  each  woman to  come  in to  light  and fight for  justice .

Autobiography of a jack fruit seed

Autobiography of a jackfruit seed
Once upon a time I was a seed inside a jackfruit on a big tree. The   jackfruit was plucked and was taken to a house where everyone ate the jack fruit. The seeds were kept in a corner to make curry and I was one of the seeds.

The maidservant was cutting the seeds and I was about  to be cut when I slipped and fell on the ground. For a week I was taken out by some naughty children and they played with me.they threw me up and down for a long time. Suddenly a boy threw me over the orchard. The gardener saw me and planted in a corner. He was a kind man. He watered me everyday. I grew into small plant.

After many years I became big and strong and had plenty of fruits and exported them to different states. Years passed by. The owner thought of cutting the trees in the orchard and to sell the land. One by one all my friends were cut down. I felt very lonely. I was spared as I was in a corner.
Only a few months passed before some men came and constructed flats over there. Many people began to live there. They climbed on me and pulled my branches and leaves. I was fed up. One day I was also cut and off my wood was sold to a carpenter. Now I stand in a house as a lot. People sit on me, sleep on me and jumped on me. And I dream of my destiny, that people may use as a fine wood one day.
