PAPER RECYCLING

Paper is different from other waste produce because it comes from a sustainable resource: trees. Unlike the minerals and oil used to make plastics and metals, trees are replaceable. Paper is also biodegradable, so it does not pose as much threat to the environment when it is discarded. While 45 out of every 100 tonnes of wood fibre used to make paper in Australia comes from waste paper, the rest comes directly from virgin fibre from forests and plantations. By world standards, this is a good performance since the worldwide average is 33 percent waste paper. Governments have encouraged waste paper collection and sorting schemes and at the same time, the paper industry has responded by developing new recycling technologies that have paved the way for even greater utilization of used fibre. As a result, industry’s use of recycled fibres is expected to increase at twice the rate of virgin fibre over the coming years.

Already, waste paper constitutes 70% of paper used for packaging and advances in the technology required to remove ink from the paper have allowed a higher recycled content in newsprint and writing paper. To achieve the benefits of recycling, the community must also contribute. We need to accept a change in the quality of paper products; for example, stationery may be less white and of a rougher texture. There also needs to support from the community for waste paper collection program.

There are technical limitations to the amount of paper which can be recycled and some paper products cannot be collected for re-use. These include paper in the form of books and permanent records, photographic paper and paper which is badly contaminated. The four most common sources of paper for recycling are factories and retail stores which gather large amounts of packaging material in which goods are delivered, also offices which have unwanted business documents and computer output, paper converters and printers and lastly households which discard newspapers and packaging material. The paper manufacturer pays a price for the paper and may also incur the collection cost.

Most paper products must contain some virgin fibre as well as recycled fibres and unlike glass, paper cannot be recycled indefinitely. Most paper is down-cycled which means that a product made from recycled paper is of an inferior quality to the original paper. And the recycling process still creates emissions which require treatment before they can be disposed of safely. Nevertheless, paper recycling is an important economical and environmental practice but one which must be carried out in a rational and viable manner for it to be useful to both industry and the community.

MEN OR WOMEN

"God created a man and then he found that he was incomplete. In order to him complete,a pair was created for him"

It doesn't mean that man overpower woman both have their own strengths and weakness. In order to turn the weakness of a man to strength a women is needed.Similarly in order to turn the weakness of a women a man is needed.Behind every successful man there is a women.Without the support of a man a woman cannot come to the front row of the society. Both complement each other.

But in today's society both try to overpower each other. This is the basic reason for the increase  in the number of divorces. They are the two pillars of a family and if they fall the entire family collapses.

We people are the future of tomorrow  let's understand each other and be a model to others. Thus we can  make the world a better place to live in.

SELF CONFIDENCE

Self confidence gives birth to positive thinking. Every day we wake up with a handful of challenges in front of us. Some shy away from facing them while others confront it with a smile. When we think positively we will be able to overcome any kind of hindrances. The outcome depends on the mindset of individual.
A doubtful and dependent person struggles to stand on her toes, while a confident and brave person uses her  positive thinking mind to turn the tables on any problem she face.
Another important thing that we must keep in mind is to keep trying. If you face a problem and you fail to solve it, do not run away.  Just try again and again and the success will be ours.
The more self confidence, the more  optimistic a person would be. Self confidence is needed to reach one's goal. But it is not just through self confidence one reach her goals.  It is the positive thinking which arises through self confidence changes the surroundings favourably.
Two negative signs form a positive sign, likewise any bad situation can be changed to a good one if she has the confident, determination and passion to achieve. A confident mind forgets her weakness and concentrates on her strengths.
So it is clear that where there is self confidence, there will be positive thinking.

GIRL - A HAUNTED STORY

Everyone was running to see what was happening across the street.I saw a flame rising and smoke coming up to the sky.Was it an accident.....?I too followed the steps of others ,who moved faster than me.My slower steps was because of my inner feeling of not getting involved in helping them out.

But when I was getting closer,I felt smelling something different....!It smelled like burnt flesh....I wondered if there were any people inside the vehicle and they are getting burned.I rushed down there as the cries were pricking my ears.

As I moved,I saw the smoke arising was crying out for its freedom from this world of inequality and injustice. It went up...to the world of infinity were it enjoyed freedom and happiness...!

When I reached the spot,it was much crowded so that I cannot reach out.People seem to be more worried than in normal accidents.I heard someone commenting like this.."What is the matter in accepting a proposal..?Such an idiotic and culture less girl..She should  be expecting something more...!"

I asked one of them what was the matter. The news gave me a shock so that I felt like something hearing exaggerated. But it was real.A man proposed a girl and she rejected it.His real love for her made him to burn her alive and be a part of her death for love...

I was shocked - A person burnt the girl whom he loved the most for rejecting his feeling...

                        " NEW FACE OF LOVE"

Not only for love, but for many other reasons girls have been daily exploited within a minute time-pass.Not only the ordinary girls, even the celebrities is going through the cruel harassment. What will the girls around the world will do..?Did they should stay in their house the whole day long...!Or did they need to change their dressing styles..!Ooh.. they should not walk out during nights..!All the girls in social media late nights are considered as prostitutes...Everyone is protesting and speaking a lot about their protection. But daily the incidents are coming out more worse.

All the girls around, even me is thinking about the upcoming future of women. Is the attitude that need a change....Or the women..!

MAHASHWETA - Sudha Murty

I bought this book after it was recommended by one of my friend. And after reading, I truly believe that this is the best work by Sudha Murty.
The story revolves around a lady Anupama who is beautiful beyond words, while she is enacting in a Sanskrit play titled ‘Mahashweta’ she catches the fancy of the renowned and rich doctor Anand. Both of them get married and Anand has to leave for England for further studies. Anupama develops a case of leukoderma and she is shunned by all and even her in laws throw her out of her home. Even Anand doesn’t support her and leaves her to fend for herself. After a long fight to get back with Anand, Anupama looses all hopes and then gathers all her courage and moves to Mumbai and makes a good career for herself.
I specially liked the postscript, "being an author you sometime don’t realize how your stories can touch other people lives."
So I would like to recommend this book to my dear friends to experience that magic.

Discovering herself
Not too long ago, this braveheart was struggling with fears of a mediocre life, as a young teen studying in an all-girls’ college in Nagpur.
“I did not talk to anyone, participate in competitions, or study. That can easily be called one of the darkest phases of my life” she says.
This was in stark contrast to how she had been while at school. Although not very good at studies, she had always been actively involved in extracurricular activities, participating and winning most competitions.
“I could not allow myself to slip into oblivion. I decided I had to change”
The dream of donning a uniform
“This was the turning point of my life.”
The NCC helped her discover an untapped adventurous streak, and she decided to apply for the armed forces. After completing her graduation, Harshini applied to quite a few colleges and courses but ended up pursuing an MBA. Her sights, however, were still on joining the armed forces, and she had simultaneously started preparing for the exams.
She was not very happy studying for the MBA and began applying to various other courses. Around the same time, she applied to a fire engineering course on the insistence of a friend who had learnt about the course through an employment portal.
One day, she got a call from her father, who told her a telegram in her name had arrived. It was from the National Fire Service College in Nagpur. She had got through!Although it was no mean achievement, Harshini’s parents were apprehensive.
“Nobody knew about this college, and what the course was all about.”

The ONLY girl
But they soon learnt that the college was the only of its kind  in all of Southeast Asia, and was run by the Home ministry. Harshini had put in a lot of hard work to get through. It was a UPSC style examination with only 30 seats up for the grabs. And soon, she was going to be the first girl to ever study there!
After studying in an all-girls’ college for five years, she was now going to be studying in a college full of boys. It was not going to be easy. The seven-semester course in fire engineering required the students to live in residence, so special provisions had to be made for Harshini.

. She had to change into different uniforms for each drill and be present in time. While her classmates went to their hostels, which were located on the campus, she had to go home. The schedule was gruelling. But she had to keep at it.
Being a girl in an only boys’ college sure got her a lot of popularity, but it also put her under a lot of pressure to perform.
“All the boys in my college used to ridicule me because of all the media attention and publicity I was receiving. According to them, I was doing nothing different. What they failed to understand that it was not about Harshini Kanhekar, the person, but more about a girl breaking into a male bastion, and doing what no one ever had.”
Dealing with heavy water hoses, suction hoses, and mock drills with dummies, the course was difficult for everybody who was taking it. But Harshini had additional challenges to take on.
“As I was the first girl to be taking up the course, there were a lot of expectations. I could not afford to make mistakes because my performance would set the tone for how girls would be perceived in this field.”
Her first fire situation was a cylinder blast in Shirdi during her practical year at college, where she was required to work in fire stations. Ever since, she has always been on the lookout for larger fires.
“I always used to ask my station commander when I will get to douse big fires.”

Before joining ONGC in 2006, Harshini has helped douse several big fires in Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Her longest operation was in Delhi when a tin factory caught fire, and she along with others, had to fire fight for six hours at a stretch. As a part of her service, she has also rescued civilians during floods, building collapses, wildlife attacks, and river swelling.
After joining ONGC, she was posted at the company’s Mehsana station, where she was in-charge of one of the three fire stations. “I am fortunate to have had supportive parents, great instructors, and now, employers who have always stood by me.”
Harshini’s success story is a great example for everybody who is looking to do what no one ever has. She has shown us what courage and hard work, when combined together, can achieve. As she continues to make us all proud, she has something to say to the government’s policy makers and management of educational institutions and corporates.
“Don’t assume that any job is unfit for someone purely on the basis of gender. The women of today are flying fighter jets, fighting fire, and doing the unthinkable. It doesn’t imply that we couldn’t do it ten years ago. Ability should only be judged on the basis of qualification and not gender.”

Dream?

Some dreams are auspicious. They are wonders and can create wonders. They can teach life lessons, even make transformations in our lives.

I've always wanted to see heaven.  I've heard extensive tales of how infinitely beautiful the place is. Little am I rational to not believe that. For me, heaven is a wonder to be believed in without even attempting to rationalise it.

And once, I saw heaven. I was taken to witness my all time fantasy. A distant view itself of it was sublime enough to content me for the rest of my life. My greed for more thrill took me further. I was taken aback by the extravagant beauty. But what was more astonishing was that the place was not unfamiliar. It took me no time to identify that it was my home. It was the backyard of my house the very same place where I'd play all those childhood games with my brother and neighbourhood friends. But it hardly looked the usual. It was a beauty, marvellous. Unambiguously, the same place though. Iam telling this because Iam sure I would recognise every corner of it if I had walked around.

I didn't know when I slid back to my normal sleep. But it was very surprising for me when I woke up, for the fact that I memorised all the bits of my dream. I would recollect the very picture of my heaven - the stream, the plans , the blue tint of the whole space and almost everything . And that's one dream that I still remember even after these many years passed. May be because, that whole day I was bothered to do nothing after waking up from the dream other than wondering- heaven?  My house? But how?

Years passed. Time had me to move out of my village. Moving out was hard, but fantasies of a city took me ahead - it's pace the people the culture the language and all those fancy stuff. But it didn't last too long. Successively, it got monotonous. Rush was always rush. And more importantly nature was too bare to be seen, unlike the village.

Still, I would dream of my heaven. And it's the dream to return.  To go back home, feel the calm and chill in my backyard, having the closest of conversation  with nature. "Then I would merge with the divine, like we might, in heaven". I dream.

Yes ! Some dreams are auspicious. They are created in our soul. They are wonders. We just have to put faith in the magic of these wonders.
