    EMPOWERING      HERSELF

She  has  become  stronger  by  the  shackles  put  on  her: bolder  by  the  early  experiences  of  silencing  her . She  will  break  her  shackle  and  come loud  and  powerful .
'Women empowerment ' is  the  ringing  term in  India  since  the  Delhi  gang  rape  has  been  reported.
What is  women  empowerment ? Empowering  women  physically  by  teaching  them  karate  or  other  martial  arts ? Filling  their  bags  with  mace  and  pepper  spray  ? No, but  making  them  mentally  and  legally  independent , instilling  a  feeling  of  confidence  in themselves.
Have you  been  able  to  break  off  the  shackles  of  patriarchal  society  yet  and  give  or  women  their  right and share of  happiness? Not  yet. They  are  still  bound  by  the  primitive  claps  of  religious  and  mental  customs  holding  them  down  from  fulfilling  their  dreams  and  aspirations .
Women  can  be  empowered  only  by  making  them  aware  of  their  mental  strength  ,  legal  possibilities  available  to them and  by  including  in  them  a  sense  of  confidence  and  independence . They  should  be  able  to  sustain  on  their  own , realize  their  dreams  and  become  self  reliant .
Women empowerment  can be  attained  not  just  by  bringing  a  change  in  attitude of women  but  also  in  men . Men  must  be  able  to  accept  women  as they  are  not  as mere commodities . Men should support  and  encourage  women  by  creating  a safe  and  secure  environment  for  her .
Women  are  not  helpless  mute  beings  on  earth  but  the  most  powerful  and  stronger  ones . She  has  become  stronger  by  the  shackles  put  on  her: bolder  by the  early  experiences  of  silencing  her. She  will break  her  shackles  and  come  loud  and  powerful . Yes , this  is  the  empowerment  we  need , helping  each  woman to  come  in to  light  and fight for  justice .
