My Cimmerian Land
(The land of darkness and night)
Finally, I walked in there-
To the realm of darkness,
That'd been fascinating me for a while.
And I’d been too naive-
To think straight what exactly
I was doing .
The moment
I entered, I regretted my
choice,
Everything out there was
pitch black
and scary.
My wild-beating heart
pleaded me to
flounce out.
But a voice at the back of
my head told me
to stay ;
My feet were glued
to the floor,
Not moving a
muscle to walk out .
Hence, I stayed.
I hied down to snoop
around the place,
There was nothing , save for the
darkness surrounding me.
But then something caught my eyes,
There was this tiny little
lampyrid –
Casting me a look
with his head
held high-
As if he
was the ‘lamp’
of the world.
And I wondered why I didn’t descry
it earlier.
Then I saw
those teensy-weensy stars,
That winked merrily
at me.
So that’s why
they always say-
‘Stars cannot shine
without darkness’.
Smiling at the thought and -
My newly espied pulchritude of darkness,
I walked forth to
the marvels of
the majestic Cimmerian shade,
Slowly beginning to
love being in
here.
Now it has
become my solace,
It unleashed the
charm of those small
things,
That I failed
to heed when everything was so
bright.
I let my
sobs out there
to lighten up my heavy
heart,
Knowing that nobody
can see me there in
tears.
And I like to party
alone my small joys
out
there .
There is always something
about darkness,
That is so
overwhelming.
It knows the real
me,
And I know-
I fell in love
with dazzling darkness of my Cimmerian land .
